Answers to the questions people ask most. If yours isn't here, email us and a person will reply.

How do I give the app Screen Time access?

The app needs Screen Time access to block anything. It asks during setup:

  1. Open the app and follow the setup steps until you reach the Screen Time screen.
  2. Tap the button to allow access.
  3. When iOS asks you to confirm, approve the request.
  4. Choose the apps, categories and websites you want to block.

If you skipped this step, open the app again to finish setup. You need iOS 17 or later.

What happens if I revoke Screen Time access?

iOS always lets you turn off an app's Screen Time access in the Settings app, and no app can stop you. If you do, your blocks stop applying straight away, including strict mode.

Your block lists, schedules and streaks stay saved on your iPhone. To turn blocking back on, open the app and grant access again when it asks. Your existing setup picks up where it left off.

How do unlock windows work?

When you open a blocked app, you'll see the shield screen. To get in, you earn an unlock in one of three ways:

  • A mindful pause: a short, quiet moment before you decide.
  • A short walk: your steps are counted on the device with Motion & Fitness. Allow Motion & Fitness when the app asks.
  • A quick intention: write one line about why you're opening the app.

Each unlock opens a 15-minute window (you can make breaks up to 60 minutes in Settings). When it ends, the block comes back automatically. Each unlock counts against your daily unlock budget, and the budget starts fresh each day.

My walk isn't counting steps

Step counting needs Motion & Fitness permission. Check it is turned on for the app in the iOS Settings app, then keep your iPhone with you while you walk. The pause and intention unlocks work without this permission.

How does Salah mode work?

Salah mode is optional and off by default. Turn it on in Settings › Salah mode, then pick your city (there are 22), a calculation method and a block list. That list is blocked for 15 to 60 minutes from each adhan.

Prayer times are calculated on your iPhone from the city you pick, so the app never asks for your location.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, so you cancel in iOS Settings rather than in the app:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap your name at the top.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Choose Undaze and tap Cancel Subscription.

Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid being charged for the next one. You keep access until the period ends. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the 7-day free trial on the yearly plan ends, you won't be charged.

For a refund, ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue App Store refunds ourselves.

How do I restore my purchase?

If you reinstall the app or move to a new iPhone, your subscription comes with your Apple ID. Make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe, then tap Restore purchases on the subscription screen, or Restore on the subscription card in Settings.

Your subscription is restored, but your settings are not. Because everything is stored only on your iPhone, deleting the app also deletes your block lists, schedules and streaks.

Why can't I delete the app right now?

Strict mode stops you deleting the app while a strict session or strict schedule is running. Once the session ends, you can delete it as normal.

What happens if my subscription ends?

Your schedules stop blocking and your block lists stay saved. A strict session that's already running finishes at its end time, so nothing gets stuck. Subscribe again any time to pick up where you left off.

Do you have my data?

No. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Everything stays on your iPhone. To delete it all at once, use Erase all data in Settings. See the privacy policy for the details.
